Good to know when renting in United Kingdom
The minimum age for a car rental with SIXT in the UK is 21, with a license held for at least 1 year. Some car categories have other minimum age requirements. A young driver fee applies to drivers under 25.
Non-UK residents need a valid driver’s license plus an ID or passport. UK residents need a valid license plus 2 forms with proof of address that are not more than 3 months old at pickup.
Major credit cards and debit cards linked to a major credit card company are accepted. They must be in the main renter’s name. Some car categories require a credit card for rental. Cash and prepaid cards are not accepted.
We understand that plans may change. Book your rental with the “pay later” option and you can cancel free of charge.
One-way rentals between SIXT stations in the UK are generally allowed with prior approval. An additional fee may apply.
